buying guide
Auctions may appear quite daunting, but at Beccles Auctions we’re a friendly and experienced team so we think you’ll enjoy a visit to our Auction Rooms based at Ellough Industrial Estate, Beccles. We are here to help you get the most out of our auctions, so whether it’s your first time or you are a regular auction-goer we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
If you’ve never been to an auction before, it’s probably a good idea to just drop in on a viewing day and have a look at the selection of items we have coming up for auction and generally get a feel for what happens. If you have any questions about the auction process and bidding online via our Timed Online Auctions, please don’t be afraid to ask.
All of the items in our auctions will be sold via a timed online auction on Easy Live Auction and you will need to register with them directly to bid.
You can find all of our auctions here:
www.easyliveauction.com/becclesauctions.
Our auctions are online for approximately two weeks and they will feature every item in that particular auction along with an estimated sale price and images. The estimate is only an indication and much will depend on the amount of interest once the item is online.
You can then bid in the comfort of your own home, at work (just don’t tell the boss!) or even overseas relaxing on the beach!
You can view the items in person the week prior to the auction end date, but if you are unable to make it you can arrange for a private viewing.
Condition reports and extra images are available upon request if you are unable to attend our viewing day. You can request these via Easy Live Auction or you can send an e-mail to us directly. Please just remember that it is the responsibility of any prospective bidder to physically inspect any lot in person and satisfy themselves as to the condition before making a bid.
Please read our Terms and Conditions for further information about Condition Reports and Conditions of Lots.
Each Lot is subject to a Buyers Premium of 20% plus VAT and in addition an Easy Live Auction charge of 3% plus VAT on the hammer price (27.6% inclusive of VAT). For example, if you purchase an item for £100, the total amount payable is £127.60 and an item purchased for £50 will be £63.80.
Once you have successfully purchased your Lots, you will need to pay and arrange to have your items collected. You can pay via the online link/invoice from Easy Live Auction, in person with a personal debit card, cash, or by bank transfer. We do not accept credit cards, business debit cards, international debit cards or cheque payments. We can only take payment from customers over the telephone if they are known to us.
If you are collecting in person, our opening hours are Monday-Friday between 9.00am-4.00pm and every Saturday morning between 9.00am-12noon. Please call to let us know you are coming in as we can have all of your items ready and waiting for you.
Please make sure you collect your Lots as soon as possible, as after 5 working days, storage charges of £2 plus VAT (2.4% inclusive of VAT) per lot per day will apply to any goods that have not been collected unless a prior arrangement has been made with us.
We do not provide a packing or shipping service therefore all buyers will need to make their own arrangements. Our recommended couriers are:
